i bought a Nokia E72.It's a businessphone with multi funtionality. It is the successor of the well known Nokia E71 and it running on Symbian OS. Of course using one among the latest symbian OS. Although it was built by Nokia but through my observation on the net.. i found out that poeple tend to compare it with BlackBerry and other windows mobile related devices. And as a user for Nokia and Symbian smartphone.. I think i need to let my thoughts out of the device i use so that it will add more information to the net..of course, it is from experience using the Nokia E72..
and for this review i do want to remind u this is an opinion oriented review and if u feel like wanting to disagree..go ahead..no one stopping u..
lets start by a look at the design..Nokia E72..
it is thin candy bar..and it is stylize with metal..i like metal ...the keypad material comforts me..it took me 4 days to get used to that qwerty keypad..and after that 4days..i feel the fun of qwerty keypad.. quite a big screen..although not as big as those PDAs devce..but to me its oaky because most of the big screen pdas dont have qwerty keypad because they are touch screen based phone and fyi, i hate touch screen..it is very uneasy..hard for me to use it..i remembered before this i used to use htc touch..i didnt get it..why people are so crazy with pda phones..to me it just another phone..except the fact that it runs on windows mobile ..which i think Symbian can offer a lot more than windows mobile...
and an acceptable quality of loudspeaker.. good conversation over the phone..and email functionality..easy to set up the emails..and i just have to key in my username and password..then there it goes..the emails..about the web browser for the Nokia E 72 i think it has improved..i used E51 before..and i ca see the differences..it really changes a lot.. the web page can zoom in zoom out..the navigation windows..and so forth..
another interesting fact is that there are a lots of softwares around for the phone..off course for this we have to thank to Symbian..it offers a more stable OS and a various choice of softwares..and easy to use..i even installed F-Secure anti virus..in the phone..heheh i like it..
battery power is good..Fully charged, with approx. 30 minutes talk per day, and 30 smss and 20 minutes of web browsing per day..for 2 days and it still okay..hehehe no sweat..this part about the battery..i think symbianphones wins..as for the pda phones..my friend is using ASUS whatsoever its name..this pda phone drinks battery much and he always complaint about it..whats funny about his pda is..if u want to save battery u have to switch to power saving mode which will eventually slows down the pda..and if he wants a more faster pda he has to swichtes on the turbo mode which cost him his pda battery..it consumes battery faster than before..pity him..
but that is just my opinion..he has the right to disagree with me..it just that i feel that there should be no option about speed and battery powertime..i think..it should be both without any compromising..between speed of the device and its battery life...i didnt found that on my Nokia E72
camera quality is good..5 megapixel..sharp image and various modes available for the picture capturing and acceptable quality videos..
easy to locate themes online..usefull ovi stores..
a lots option for games..optical navi key helps me a lot when browse for multimedias..
the speed is acceptable..the mode swicth funtion is very usefull to me..during at university ill use the business mode..at home i use personal mode..just one click..and it changes the mode..how cool is that..
although theres a lot more to be written about the phone...but i think it would be better if i stop now..oh..before me forget..the GPS..i used it yesterday driving to my gf's house..89 kilometres..and it really tells me the shortest way..normal route..2 hours..but this gps..routes was 1 hour and 30 minutes..cool..
no signal lost or what soever..and the only dissapoinment i have bout its gps was that the maps arent as detail as Garmin..which of course u have to pay if u want it..
but so far.. i am very satisfied..with Nokia E72..
thanks Nokia..
